2016 Southeastern Symposium on Mental Health
This year’s Symposium will feature regional and national Mental Health Professionals and Advocates as keynote speakers. Throughout the weekend actress and advocate Mariel Hemingway, Dr. Vladimir Maletic, a leading expert on Neuropsychiatry and Behavioral Medicine, and Dr. John Roberts, Board Certified in Psychiatry, Neurology, and Addiction Medicine will give talks during the dinner, gala, and plenary sessions.

Mariel Hemingway is a celebrity, prolific author, healthy, lifestyle-brand entrepreneur, and a tireless mental health awareness and suicide prevention program advocate. She focuses on topics including: mind-body-spirit optimization, purposeful living, and mental health related issues.
John Roberts, MD
Dr. Roberts, an addiction psychiatrist, serves as the Medical Director at the Pavillon, with nearly 20 years of experience acting as an Assistant Professor of Psychiatry at the Medical University of South Carolina. While there, Dr. Roberts was the attending psychiatrist for the Inpatient Dual Diagnosis Unit and the director of the Clinical Outpatient Division for the Center for Drugs and Alcohol Program.
Vladimir Maletic, MD
Vladimir Maletic, MD, is a Clinical Professor of Neuropsychiatry and Behavioral Science at the University Of South Carolina School Of Medicine in Columbia, and a consulting associate in the Division of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry, Department of Psychiatry, at Duke University in Durham, North Carolina.
